Sharp Airlines trials flights from Hobart to Flinders Island, King Island

Sharp Airlines is trialling direct flights from Hobart to both King Island and Flinders Island, with services running for an initial four-month period, with a view to operating over the longer term.
On both routes, return flights will operate three times per week from September 30, complementing Sharp Airlines’ existing services that connect the Tasmanian islands with Burnie and Launceston.

“Sharp Airlines is proud to be working with the State Government in supporting them to provide air services between our capital city and the Bass Strait Islands,” said Sharp Airlines CEO Dallas Hay.
“(This) will not only benefit the island communities but Tasmanians generally,” Hay added.
Flights will be operated by the carrier’s Metroliner turboprops, with 15kg of checked baggage and 6kg of carry-on luggage included as standard.
